Well we had our first race of the season. It was not a points race so we were able to kick back a little and relax more.

We were fastest out of 8 in practice came from 5th to 1st. We qualified 3rd. 1/2 tenth off the leader. Made some changes and ran the fastest lap of the race by 1/2 tenth. (the changes worked) !! Finally the crew cheif (me/dad) made the right decision. Laughing

Well on the first lap we stuck behind the leader and was able to keep the inside in turn one. The Second place kart clipped us - her left front hit our right rear. Well five laps later the tire gave up and we spun in coming out of turn 2. Almost had a bad collision but the 3rd and 4th place racers made some good decisions and avoided us. One of them paid for it in the back stretch wall but he was okay.

We ended up 3rd when the 2nd place kart was DQ'd for an illegal carb. All in all it was a great day. We were one of the fastest karts all day and we came home with a whole kid and a whole kart. That's all that matters!!

KART racers: THE 360 DEVICE by Vahaila is freakin awesome! Worth every dime. You got to check them out. http://www.valhallaracing.com

The combination of the armadillo and the 360 head and neck device was great. Zach loved it. Said it kept him stable in the kart especially coming off the corners. Anyway just wanted to pass that opinion along.

Hope everyone else had a great race weekend. Looks like another rain out for us this weekend.

Aaron Smith
