I don't even think he's ridden it yet...lol. Right Caleb?

Right... Sad lol I'm still waiting on my hubs!

And anubis, yes I think you might be lol. I can't wait to get a quad, but no way in hell am I racing it!

Oh and how exactly would a swingarm on a predator break and have to be re-welded?!

the predators are very top heavy and when you jump it, the swing arms bend, you jump a few more times and it will snap...i would highly recommend not getting a predator....

Well... Im not planning on racing it or anything, just mainly ditch riding. since I can't take my bike out there and I'm limited to only tracks, I would like a little more freedom!

I guess it depends what it is... but around 2k or so. But my buddy just bought an 05 TLE predator... so I CANT have something slower than that, and I want something reliable.

Yeah I was actually going to buy one of the sick new X4Rs or LXR 160R both by pitster... but still, I can only ride them at my house and buddy's tracks.. I want some freedom in the ditches and whatnot!

From what I've read, there's a few quads that have swingarm cracking problems? Even the almighty YFZ 450... If it is cracked, I guess I'll see how the weld looks... if it still seems worth it I'll buy it, and then just have some plates welded over the crack for reenforcement? That sounds like a viable option right?!

haha ahhh i see...

Yeah, one of the private tracks I go to, they own a few 4 wheelers and we go out and give it hell on those poor things haha

I swear, i think that 300ex has had like 6 clutches in 2 years haha

We ride down the side of some train tracks, cross a few roads and hit thise sweet roller section haha... then when a train comes, you gotta stop and throw rocks at the box cars and watch them bounce off lolll

oh the last time i rode one i rolled it a few times....luckily it was a piece of crap to begin with...they are also very top heavy, so if you like to swing that back end...be careful cause it will continue going over....

Well... I've ridden them before and they've been good to me, a BUNCH of my friends used to have them in high school.

They're sweet, like I said I wont be racing it, just ditches and maybe some trails. also... if I did happen to roll it... it wouldn't be a first time rolling a quad for me lol.

Have you heard of swingarm problems though on the predator? or is it a fairly common problem among all quads, kinda like damaging a radiator on a bike?

actually you should never really crack a swing arm unless you are doing like 50 foot gaps...they do occur, but really not that often. It will happen over time, but it happens more with motocross quads and such, so I would definitely check out the wheel bearings, shocks, frame for cracks, and the brakes

I've just seen pics, and it looks like a weld going across the swingarm, I have to ask him about it and check it out in person. Of coarse when I see it in person though if it is a weld I'll spend ALL DAY checking that thing out if I have to haha. I need to make up a check list of things to go over... I could be like a GOOD GM inspector hahaha Very Happy

This would be so much easier if I had your AIM address... lol

Yeah, I've always felt I have a pretty good grasp on the little things and feelings while I'm riding.. I can tell if something is loose (like something meaningless, like a bolt on the plastics) or if something is just a tiny bit off... so I'm pretty confident in my test riding abilities lol.

I'll definitely look it over really well though, I think I'm going to check it out on thursday... I'm trying to get my buddy to come along because it's down in farmington and thats a long boring drive... but he works at like 3 every day, so we'd have to go pretty early... I wish I had a friend that knew a lot about quads to help me check it out lol.
