Im cleared to race this weekend! woo hoo arenacross on a wr250f, am i crazy? probably, but I dont care! Im probably gonna spend thursday and friday prepping

Getting ready
waiting for practice
I raced arenacross this weekend, first real race I have ever entered.
I went on a wr250f that had the lights and trail stuff removed, not the best bike for a tight track with lots of jumps. I basically went out there and ran my race, wasnt too worried about how I placed as it was supposed to be a learning expierence. And I did learn, alot, Im also addicted to this racing stuff, now for a yz-f to keep the wr company
anyway, I was running fourth in my heat race, after killing the bike on the holeshot, I crashed on the table top, dropped back to 7th, crashed again but luckily got back up in time
My friends ended up running in another heat, one got 2nd, one dnf'd and one got last
Went to the LCQ with 2 of my friends, I just put my head down and went, Pictures show me reaching the first corner last, but unlike most of them I didnt let off, ended up in 4th, and held it, good enough to put me in the main. The main was fun, so many riders I had to line up behind people at the gates, One of my friends went down, so did alot of other people early on, it was dodge the fallen bikes and riders, including one of my friends who dnf'd because of damage to the controls (clutch and brake got destroyed) i just decided I reached my goal, I qualified, so I just rode my race and ended up 8th out of 13. I had fun
this pic looks like Im at fault but its after I stalled and reached the first corner, the guy evidently ended up not turning and hit the wall head on.(heat)

start of the lcq it was hot, like 100* hot
im the 95 with the white fender, with both my friends lined up (32 KTM and 23 Honda)

after the table top (lcq I think, 191 crashed bad enough to need to be stretchered out during the main)
I couldnt do the rhythm section (mental block)
but a guy on a yz125 could, but I was a bit better in the corners, we battled till he fell
HAD A BLAST! Will do it again! |
